LOT2 Framework contract with the European Commission (evaluation of call for proposals):

European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR), micro Project Bangladesh 2005

Activites:

The Grant scheme covered the following themes:

  • Support initiatives promoting a culture of human rights, with particular focus on promoting the rights of vulnerable and marginalized groups, particularly women and children;
  • Promote advocacy activities for workers’ rights;
  • Support activities to enhance access to justice for vulnerable groups;
  • Support activities to prevent the use of torture in the private and public domain, and for the rehabilitation of torture victims
  • Support awareness raising, advocacy, capacity building and other relevant activities to defend the rights of persons facing discrimination or unjust treatment on the grounds of gender, religion, race, ethnicity, language or economic background;
  • Support activities combating intolerance between people of different races, ethnic origins, languages and/or religions.  Activities may include but are not limited to: 

O promoting anti-discrimination, anti-racism, religious tolerance teachings in schools;

O promoting, advocating, developing education policies and programming that contribute to understanding, solidarity, and tolerance among individuals as well as among ethnic, social, cultural, religious and linguistic groups;

O  supporting media activities promoting tolerance;

O promoting civil society efforts to promote a dialogue of tolerance at the local and national level;

  • Support activities raising awareness of the benefits of diversity and promoting harmony among people from different religions, cultures, ethnic, language and economic backgrounds
